Telehealth without the awkwardness

Video therapy can feel surprisingly intimate when your space is set up well. Here is how to create a “therapy corner” even if you do not have a home office.

Telehealth removes commute friction, but it adds a new variable: your environment. The goal is not perfection—it is predictability. A consistent chair, decent lighting, and a pair of headphones can dramatically improve focus.

Privacy matters. If you share a home, consider a parked car (stationary), a walk during parts of the session if clinically appropriate, or a white noise machine outside the door. Your therapist can brainstorm creative options with you.

Technology hiccups happen. Most clinicians have backup plans—phone audio, rescheduling short checks, or switching platforms. The therapeutic relationship can survive a frozen screen; what matters is communication.

Massachusetts clients can access secure statewide telehealth with our team while still having the option of in-person care in Marlborough when that fits best.
